A closed Dollar Tree location at 2721 Bronxwood Avenue, Bronx, New York
all the usual suspects

The significance of the past decade seems to be meaningful because like me, many people lived almost entirely online. Integrated with print media from legacy outlets like The New York Times from 2014-2017. It was an online reality that was slightly delusional, like a new toy or a new drug that eventually wore off. Another round of that type of suspension of disbelief would be very difficult to achieve.
Going back to review those pre-COVID locations can be a challenge. There is an unusual vandalism and need to control the territories that is reflective of the need to control what appears to be an already rundown and corrupt internet, (and legacy media content with a trail of false reports and staged attacks). One example of this outcome is a tragedy like the Reiner murders which implicates the Obamas among others.
That speaks to the core of the industry as expressed in movies like Being Charlie (the Reiner collaboration) and the often overlooked Bollywood dependence on U.S. cinema as well as The Times and other legacy media articles which provided coverage of the past decade. Some of whom cultivated the events that interacted and followed the pandemic (the pandemic echoing the same vandalism and abandoned properties).
Most notably, the closure of recovery rooms and abandoned church basements (and AA meetings), is by far the most notable aspect of a society that has pushed meeting mandates for decades; by the courts and other “tough love”, religious and interfaith programs. One possibility could be that recovery is incompatible with an online (at times delusional), social media landscape, therefore is banned by the same “tough love” and interfaith programs that now play for online control. This desire to oversee online content has seemingly worse outcomes than accusations of pharmaceutical industry corruption.

Technology does design its interface with an availability heuristic that accommodates print media. If you are sober enough to understand the basics there does seem to be a disconnect that is more than likely damaging to advertisers and sales. However, keeping the patients sick to align with product sales does sound vaguely familiar.

The realization that your news and information isn’t really doing a service per se, to inform readers about corruption and other events. One aspect of data design might be to “match” what turns out to be corruption—on a global scale. As long as we understand, as journalists that not everyone is going to speak with you on-the-record or even agree that it’s a relevant subject. If an interview seems important to some and not to others social media is one way to eliminate that person-to-person burden particularly for celebrities.

There does exist a Cinderella-style elitism in larger institutions like Columbia University and other Ivies in that they do use international, academic consulting firms with AI in mind. Particularly within their medical schools. “Human subjects” as well as antibiotic resistance isn't a problem for some countries from which they do receive research funding. And any good school will inform the student body that they are only guests in the often economically disadvantaged, surrounding neighborhoods. However, by the time one makes the passage to 96th Street on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, (and only blocks away from the Columbia campus), what was a polite reminder from faculty takes on an entirely new meaning.
The American dream has always been this type of destination however, as the preexisting infrastructure continues to phase-in, its getting harder to deny or “cover up” what is now deemed transparent or what was considered “a leak”. Particularly within the context of the recent activities of ICE and other extremist agency examples.
MAGA and the mass hysteria surrounding President Trump might be partially responsible for some of the vandalism. However, the push to promote delusional thinking did seem to be predominant during the Biden years under his Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence.
Journaists should pay close attention to what could be the next big thing.
